Honestly? The best horror game I've ever played. Better than any AAA offering. Deep lore, anxiety inducing, tense moment to moment gameplay. Multiple paths thru the game, a true ending and randomised environments. The visual style enhances the horror, giving a nightmarish feel. I beat this game on Steam 5 times since release, now yet again here because year after year, this game ages like fine wine. Be patient and learn how to play and you will be rewarded. Real shame devs broke up. Masterful and totally unique game.

Buckle up. As the game will tell you, this is a tough experience. A satisfying gameplay style of using equipment wisely as well as exploring with caution. Strange characters with even more strange personalities. A sound track you will never forget especially during morning. A must try even if you are not a horror fan!

Excellent game, challenging but not unforgiving, great environmental story telling which makes the world more immersive. Great to see its been put on GOLD now, finally a decent game, just ignore the 1 stars who have either<20mins playtime, dog enemy morality issues or just dont know how to show secret achievements ( left menu button( also why is it the games fault you dont know that ?)). I digress. Good game. Play it. And remember, ALL ROADS LEAD DEEPER INTO THE WOODS.

Suprised to see this on games with gold amongst the terrible titles microsoft "generously" gives away for free. the game is amazing and uneasy, permanently keeping you alert and on edge.

Didn't think much going in, but was pleasantly surprised by just how good this game is. 10/10

Well worth the price as there's reason for multiple playthroughs. Difficult but rewarding for those who stick with it to the end.

The unique gameplay, and genuinley amazing methods of storytelling make a great experience that seems to go unnoticed by most. There is so much choice to ways which you can progess the story. This is one of the only games that it actually scary and is deserving of the "horror" title, because it relies on great atmosphere, and not cheap jump scares.

The whole game is brilliant, it kept me engrosed and entertained the whole way through. For the low price, its definitely worth it.

Very dark and disturbing atmosphere which will keep you alert at all times. The game rarely holds your hand so be prepared for trial and a lot of error! Patience and being very cautious is key in surviving the chilling nights. A must buy for survival horror fans.

One of the best games I have ever played. The sound design is astonishing! This game consistently makes you feel unsettled as a subtle sound such as a twig snapping or a dog bark immediately raises your guard (if it wasn't already raised) and gets your adrenaline pumping as you believe you're about to fight for your life. The story is generally intriguing aswell as you slowly unravel the mystery about the forest. Now I could go on but it's best you experience this masterpiece for yourself. Respect the woods. Be patient. Focus.
