This game is getting the lowest review possible based on the fact that within career mode there is a well-known glitch which prevents the game from working beyond the first season. There is no support from EA on this front, with their Twitter team posting a link to Microsoft troubleshooting guides, and doing nothing themelves to fix this error. Everyone who regularly plays FIFA needs to boycott the franchise until such time as EA decides to listen to customers, fix their unplayable games, and stop using in-game transactions as a standard, and seemingly acceptable way to rinse gullible customers of their hard earned money. I've been a FIFA player since '98, and this franchise has been going downhill ever since EA brought in Ultimate Team mode. Shame on EA for obvious money-grabbing tactics, and for not caring enough about your customers to make a fully working game. I'll be avoiding FIFA until they sort their priorities out, probably switch to PES.

I'm 30 years old and have purchased or been given FIFA as a Christmas present every year sinse FIFA 95 (me and my dad used to play against eachother for hours in tournament mode) on the Mega Drive (Genises for the US) but this will be the last FIFA or EA game I will be purchasing in my lifetime. My 7 year Son even knows the game is a broken mess and even though he loves football he refuses to play it with me. EA can deny it all they want and the fan boys can defend EA till they go blue in the face but this game is scripted to the core online and offline and only a deluded idiot would say otherwise. FIFA 12 was the last FIFA I enjoyed playing and the only thing EA gives a f#@k about is MICRO-TRANSACTIONS. Everyone needs to stand up to this BS and stop purchasing EA games. Paying £50 for the same broken game every year is a disgrace and we deserve better than the current nonsense we are getting. Well done EA on losing a loyal customer

The game in general is worse then sitting on a hospital bed whilst being told you have cancer. I could of bought V-bucks instead of this *****, unfortunately it has already infected me with a rare condition, its called 'Scripted Aids Syndrome'. I suffer everyday 😀🔫. The beatiful game is now beautiful aids.

EA dont support or love this game at all, literally just a moneypot rather than a franchise in their eyes nowadays, EA are quickly turning into IOI from Ready Player One. Ea need to change their ways and see gamers as people rather than $ before they are a long forgotten memory

I liked pre patch the game was so fluid so fast and i was able to reminisce the days getting home from school and wanting to play fifa because it was fun. first 3 weekends got elite 1 and 2. Now i struggle to get gold 1 because as the gameplay changed the game wasnt fun, it became a chore. it started ruining relationships i had with friends and family because i was so angry and stressed. i got crazy burn out and didnt play it for 2 months never felt so good in my life. This game is genuine cancer and needs serious work done.

Listen I'm not stupid, EA make a hell of a lot of 💰 with FUT & of course they're going to put their focus where the money is. But i haven't payed to play that, I'm with the minority and LOVED career mode.. loved. The down right disrespectful, unfinished and broken-- lacklust "features" is astoundingly put on show right out the gate, it's embarrassing. If they donny care then why should we.. not going to bother with the next lot till EA pulls their heads from up their *****.

Ultimate team is given a large pedestal by EASports due to its monitary aspect, in term belittling the other modes, which really isn't even a problem as the journey is boring, kick off is for when your mates come round, skill games is unfinished, no one plays or even knows about the tournament mode, seasons and co-op seasons are actually decent but are VERY unpopulated due to UT, pro clubs is still not finished or fixed (it's been 9 years), and friendlies is friendlies. The only reason people buy this game, is to play UT, FIFA YouTube videos are 99% UT, there is a large audience for this mode. On the UT aspect it's actually very good, as there is a competetive weekend league, SBC's, Squad Battles, draft, and special promos ( TOTY, FUTmas, etc.). But FIFA 18's issue is it's gameplay, it's broken, frustrating, and often unpredictable. Although the defending mechanics are terrible, my main concern is the passing, as most passes are misplaced or wrong power. please fix -passionate fan

This years fifa is kind of bitter/sweet. The game looks amazing and is exactly what you would expect from a fifa game, though disappointed that the layout for career is still exactly the same, it is what it is. By far the biggest problem is the gameplay. The game feels an unbalanced mess between attack and defence. EA wanted us to control our defending more, by removing the AI cover on non controlled players. THIS CLEARLY DOESN'T WORK. As players we can only do 1 thing at a time. if your playing against a good player its just who scores more. trying to defend against WC or above is somethimes impossible they will create a shot on goal 9 out of 10 times, it feels untouchable no matter what position you are in the ball magicaly goes through you. They should of left the core gameplay of 17, and tweaked it. Why they think it needs a massive gameplay overhaul year in year out is beyond me. Attack wise its an improvement but maybe an over improvement.

They sell you a different product after the demo release and now the game only focuses on FUT because well, us only buying the game once what use are we to EA after that. Last fifa i'll waste money on.

Big build up good first few weeks. FUT is terribly terrible the physics in game so bad 90 pace player cant outrun a 50 pace defender. pro clubs takes too long to get a high level ive played 80 games and still 83 rated. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME ON THIS

Worst fifa mechanics ever. I try playing squad battles on FUT as i prefer single player over multiplayer and all I've seen is the most stupid ai ever made. I try passing? It randomly shoots instead. I want to make a run? It makes one of my players dribble the ball in the wrong direction off the pitch. And don't even let the opposing team into the box because I have had a countless amount of times where a random player on my team has done a red card tackle inside the box without my control over them and ultimately made me concede a penalty I can't defend against because of the games 10 second controller delay. I've only had this game a few days because of Christmas and can confidently say that this game has 1 and a half stars for a reason.

Why are we paying for this broken unpolished game? The Ultimate team mode is surely borderline gambling with a false hope installed into our heads through EAs puppet youtubers. Something must be done, but for the time being ill not be playing the game, nor any other EA products.

been contacting EA ETC. since early launch due aquiring icon edition and not being given dlc for which i payed £90 for and after being told and promised my content by 6 different staff members th 7th decides to say i have no permission to the dlc claiming i brought the standard edition the tells me to contact microsoft as EA dont give refunds...... customer service.....HA next joke!!!!!!!!! The game itself is ok at best way to many glitches but i advise never buy from EA. The servers are ****. FUT is pure pay to win. pro clubs are full of glitches

i always buy this trash with the optimistic view that they will stop the scripting but it is more blatantly obvious than ever.. really grim.. iv played fifa competitively at the highest level and the game mechanic changes when it wants your oponent to win are actualy cringeworthy. not worth buying if you enjoy fair competitive games.
