Best Of The 3 On Offer!

This beats Tennis World Tour 2 and Matchpoint through it's excellent Customisation options which give you all the unlicenced players and stadiums as Community Created DLC. It flows well and the controls become intuitive as you continue to play. Put it on Rookie as you get to grips and then increase the challenge by upping the difficulty as needed. Love the extreme detail of the Character creator. It's fun to play especially with your Custom Star. If you picked it up for £6.00 in the sale even better.

WELL IT IS TENNIS

First off I tried the new Matchpoint 2 Demo, which was ok however over 40 pound to buy is way to steep so I took a punt on AO for way under £10 on sale and it ain't half board, player faces are abit iffy but on court it looks quiet good on my Series S, plays a good game of Tennis although no commentry and so so sound effects, however your control seems more tighter and more forgiving then the new Matchpoint and you can download community made players and venues which is great, for the price I paid I'm well pleased.

Pointless

more often than not your player doesn't respond to what you're trying to do. Often the player just decides randomly that they're not going to go after the ball and would rather stand there instead. Players also lag, even offline in solo mode?! I can't be bothered to state the positives because at the end of the day its basically a tennis game where sometimes your player will move, and sometimes they won't so even if it was the worlds greatest career mode why would you even play it. Pointless. so yeah... Like, your player just sometimes decides he ain't going after the ball and just stands there. Pointless... Play Rockstar Table Tennis instead. Graphics on this game are good, great character creator too but again why even bother playing it if your player decides randomly not to try!? Pointless game.

Career mode Ai is horrendous

AO Tennis 2 is the most frustrating career experience of all tennis games. I love tennis irl an usually as video games. The great days of Top Spin and Virtua Tennis are long gone. Playing AO career on default amateur difficulty and losing most matches. Holding in each point, varying shot types and power, hitting deep and as wide as possible but the Ai gets most shots back, so becomes dull very very looong rallies and the Ai hardly ever does any unforced errors. There's 5 difficulty levels above amateur so they must be shocking. The gameplay is just not fun. Graphics are nice enough is the only positive.

A little improvement from the first game not the best. There are still bugs and there could definitely be improvements added but it seems like this game has been abandoned unfortunately :(

First thing first, there are not many Tennis games out there. My opinion on AO Tennis is that this is not a game with a big budget behind it so there is some jank there especially in the movement of the player sometimes. Overall the actual Tennis experience is much better than that other tennis game on the market, and the community customization is where AO Tennis 2 truly shines, from players, and venues, to clothing branding it's all here. I recommend if you can deal with the occasional jank because overall there is a fun solid Tennis game here. The price should be lower though and not just when it's on sale, just a suggestion to the developer and publisher. 👍

Cool game but lacks player movement and ball control

Cant dive or over reach in any way.That makes a tennis game. Gameplay detail is everything. If Sega Dreamcast did it with VT so can you. Pls update it with that in mind as it could be perfect.

The only thing i can say is the graphics not bad...the gameplay,serving,ball controll..and few other things..shocking...its like it needs recalibrating...another thing...Aliens exist

Much better than the first ao seems smoother game play. Could do with more choice of stadium venues added. And legend players are available to download, quick online play. Compared to other tennis games this is one of the best I have played. And now well worth the buy at reduced price.

Patch Needed

A vast improvement over the first one......HOWEVER.....please, please programmers patch this game quickly, because I don't mind losing games if It's my fault, but not when your player just stands in front of the ball like a stuffed animal and lets the ball go past. This NEEEEEEEEDS a fix ASAP. If I want the player to move I don't expect the controller to be unresponsive!!! If this is fixed then this will be an 'Ace' game. This was a problem in the first game......PLEASE don't let this be a 'Double Fault'. Well, several months on and not a word from the programmers. Not even an update........I guess they don't care too much about constructive feedback from their customers. A good business surely has their finger on the pulse......but, hey ho.........no doubt it will be the same with AO Tennis 3....4....5....etc ad infinitum.

Rookie too easy, amateur too hard

If you are looking for a game like topspin i would not recommend. The game mechanics are based on timing and with that it makes it very hard to play unless you are on rookie, but then it is too easy. I played for a couple of hours before requesting a refund as i cant see myself getting on with it. The career mode however seems a good feature if you can get the hang of playing the game

Not quite a tennis great

A good game, however it could be better if they sort out the player responsiveness to shots. Very customizable with the academy, its not far away from the best ever 2 tennis games for me which are virtua and topspin 4, just needs a bit more spit and polish.

A much better effort than the 1st ao tennis! Career mode is much better with sponsors,coaches,training,reputation,fatigue,cut scenes ect. also able to download hundreds of pros and venues to use in your career!! Gameplay is slightly better also .😁👌

Fun but needs patching

Overall enjoyable with glaring issues. Customisation is good. You can alter difficulty and save and exit mid match which is great. However there are problems... Drop shot returns are glitchy. Doubles matches cause huge framerate issues. Players go missing in career mode: Nadal is gone halfway into my 1st season... He's the cover star! Not injured just gone. They advertised pressers but haven't had 1 since my 1st match. AI make 3 unforced errors a match. You have to turn into a winner machine. It's fun but needs patching

Terrible do not buy!!

Well just when I thought this game couldn't get any worse it has!!! Its an absolute joke of a game. Not worth the 45.99 i paid. 1. Players dont slide on clay! Why!? Thats a basic thing about clay court tennis!! 2 some of the player movements feel unrealistic. Example reaching to the ball instead of proper footwork or movement. 3. Unrealistic injury moments that makes no sense whatsoever. 4. Press conferences are boring and unrealistick because you keep being asked the same questions. 5. Crowd sounds unrealistic as they clap and cheer while sat down at change of ends. And while serving. 6. No other real life stadiums apart from rod laver arena. 7. Unrealistic weather system. No rain delays etc. 8. Tennis games should be made by people who have real tennis background and more well known gaming developers like EA games or the people who made topspin. 9. Some of the game looks bugy and unfinished. Really hope they release some updates and patches.

Suggestions for and issues within the game

Much improved from the 1st game. Couple of things to address. Need separate rankings for doubles in career mode. As what's the point of playing doubles events if no ranking points are at stake? Would have been an idea for an achievement. To obtain 1st in the rankings in singles and doubles. Also if my player is ranked 250 he shouldn't really be allowed direct entry in 250 World Tour events. Not that realistic. So should try to put in qualifying rounds to qualify for the main draw in future implementations of the game. Wildcards as another suggestion for events in career mode. Local young prospect, local player one coming back from long term injury as examples. Wildcards were within career mode in events on the Smash Court Tennis series in the past. So is a possibility. Marrakesh is listed as in Montenegro when it should be Morocco in an event in career mode.
