Annoying in the end

It defeats the point of a nice relaxing game when the game doesn't work properly. If you skip a cutscene the screen goes black, great for when you have to replay entire sections because achievements ALSO dont work. Someone said replay from the start but i cant take another boring, stretched out for no reason cutsceme of the MC staring gormlessly into space or scenery ive looked at a million times trying to snap the same creature as the last 4000 times hoping this time it registers. This has been complained about in every review since release and still not fixed so i will play zero of this publishers other games because they add extra difficulty modes of their own by making whether youget the achievements a lottery. My actual playtime is half what it say, rest was me trying not to rage so yeah, nice relaxing game slow clap thanks for fuxxxxg my ratio

You walk about, take photos, solve like 3 extremely easy puzzles, the end Complete in 1-2 hours if you 100% it Not something I'd pay for

A Really Nice Adventure!

A couple of hours of pure and enjoyable escapism. Lovely art style and ambient music make for a great little adventure. Wander and take photographs. Chill and enjoy the environments and creatures. If you want a simple, relaxing and enjoyable adventure, Beasts of Maravilla Island will provide it. Lovely vision by the creators, thank you!

Great game

Favourite game with gold freebie for a long time. Chilled Pokémon Snap style game in a colourful jungle finding & photographing cute animals, insects & plants. The animals also have behaviours to look out for which is cool.

Last time i made my reveiw i was stuck on 99% completion because the last acheivement wouldn't unlock but the next day i had logged on and got the achievement, game was fun very chill and a nice way to spend the evening not at all what i expected from a photography game.

Glitchy

It ok I gave 1 star as it doesn't register certain photos taken therefore cannot get all achievements, not been fixed for months either just shows the laziness and incompetence of the creators.

Only save & quit out at the start of a chapter, otherwise it will bug out the achievements. I cant get 100% now 😢

Cheevos are glitchy but...

...if you play in one sitting (about 60-90 min with a guide) it's all good. Had to do 2nd playthrough in one sitting. 1st playthrough saved at start of 3rd level, and loading that save messed up photo progression. Chilled game.

Beautiful game ❤️the design but few issues stand out for me 1. Storyline was ok but could havebeen better 2. How short the actual game is. 3. Ppl mention a glitch in achievementswhich needs patching also a glitch on last areas temple stairs near top which makeds difficultto reach the top. It has potential.and would to see more added or similar games as i enjoy games like this maybe even a co op one

Chivo hunters beware.

Cute game, but some of the end achievements won't unlock. The checklist in the journal isn't registering photos taken, and as a result about four of the chivos won't unlock. I'd like to think a future patch might be in the works, but I'm not holding my breath.

Takes around two hours to complete, and is pretty easy. Like Call of the Sea, but swapping puzzles for photography, and trading eerie esotericism for charming whimsy. Overall, I wouldn't play it again, but I did enjoy the experience... it just feels like it's lacking something

Better than the game pass games

Found this better than the broken glitchy bugged game pass photo games, all achievements popped for me got the 100%. If the final achievement doesn't pop after getting all other achievements just watch the credits go to new game and continue it should then pop.

Relaxing, peaceful Game

I downloaded this game because games for gold advertised it.. However if i'd have known about this game sooner I would have bought it. Such a fun, laidback and relaxing game for an achievement hunter like myself. I also appreciate the diversity games for gold offers. This game is suitable for all genders and ages.. 10/10! I have 1000g'd this game and I'd do it again.
