Awkward to control

There's stuff to like but the controls are awkward and it's easy to get stuck to walls or in corners, just makes it feel bad to play. The sound balance is a mess too. American Fugitive is a better classic gta clone

It's an entertaining indie GTA1&2 clone in medieval skin. Don't go in expecting Kingdom Come: Deliverance x GTA V lol. Worth the £3.50 sale price for a short, fun game. Best played in between "bigger" titles in your catalogue as a "palate cleanser". Chuck sh*t at people!

Flawed but fun (mostly)

Short old school GTA clone. Well adapted to the period. Completeable in about 7 hours. Melee controls are tricky, but you pick them up with practice. There are a fair few collision and AI bugs, as well as ones that softlock progression (save frequently). Im also locked out of doing the body cart side activity so cant 100%. Also screw the secret horse collecting and its RNG bs. Overall, humour is good - lots of monty python and movie references, and the game is fun when it works right (about 90% of the time). Worth a £10 - £15 spend, any more and you risk feeling ripped off NB: American Fugitive is arguably a better OS GTA clone if thats what youre after

Missing 2 expansions, 3 events & updates from PC

The game is still receiving new content and updates to this day for the PC version. On the forums, the developer said the console versions will not receive the new content e.g. 2 expansions, seasonal events, bug fixes and improvements or any updates. Considering Rustler is more expensive on console too; the developer has let down console owners by offering bad value compared to the PC counterpart. The game is still enjoyable in parts but ultimately feels unpolished due to the lack of updates on console. I can only recommended that you wait to buy this game during a sale, while it is heavily discounted, if you're still interested.

I wanted this to be good...

Got this on (hour of) release, played 1.5hr and then waited a week for the update, which didn't help much. Wish i had refunded and waited for a price drop instead of holding out hope. They really need to fix the mechanics, and for the price add some more content. Such a shame, could have been great with a bit more effort.

Achievements don't unlock and it wiped my saved game. Its a shame because the game is actually really good but its unplayable in it's current state. Wait for a patch before you buy.

Brokeen and glitchy

How do i get a refund? Really enjoying this game but I cant complete it as it will only allow me to shoot 2 of 3 dummies when training for jousting. And i cant save the drug dealer. If you enter the water you drown but hes standing on the land. Stupid and glitchy

Bought a title screen

I hope this isn't becoming a trend of releasing games that don't work until a patch.. I'm giving this game until wednesday 8th Sept to get fixed or i want a refund. I don't spend my money not to play a game...

Unplug your console 5 mins to get past loading screen

Was stuck at new game selection. Nothing would happen. Turned offmy cosole disconnected the power lead for 5 mins. No issues since. Hope that can help others with the same issue. Great game hope you can all enjoy it now.

Needs fixing

Gets stuck on the start game/continue screen to often. Enjoyed it when I got to play it the one time it worked. Fix it please or I will be looking for a refund. If it gets fixed and i'm able to play it I will able to give a more in depth review

Feels unfinished

Completed in a few hour. Would have been quicker if it wasn't so clunky. There's no clear way to start some of the side activities and apparently not so much as an achievement for completing all the required steps. The weirdest thing though is that there is a bow in the game but, it never appeared until I had completed the game and even then it cannot be selected or used. I could go on to list many issues with this game but, it suffices to say this game is too short, lacking in content and frustratingly janky to justify the price. A shame really as there is potential for a fun game but, unlike a certain similar game that became legendary (cough...gta) I feel that Rustler won't be a thing of nostalgia in years come unless some kind of gameplay expansions are released. Not holding my breath though! For anyone who is unable to interact with the main menu after installing, I had the same problem but, restarting console fixed it.

Problems with getting game to start!

I'll be happy to give this game a high score but it's hard getting it to start. Same happened to a cyberpunk game the other week . I'm signed in fine but can't select any options from the menu and am unable to start the game. Has the microsoft store been infected with a digital version of covid?
