Overall fun game especially using riffmaster with it, just a shame the set list is so **** RB3 had the best set list imo hope if they make a RB5 the set list is better

August 13, 2024 23:01

Haven't played the game yet because i dont have a guitar compatible with the series x yet i just wish they were cheaper and that the devs would make a pack with all the dlc in the make it easier to buy all the billions of songs and packs advailable

Dlc...?

Love the game, but...any chance of some dlc that anyone over 30 has heard of? Oh, and crack on and make RB5...that is all.

Fantastic experience

August 22, 2022 09:25

This isn't the same game released back in 2015. The QoL updates over the years, the rivals expansion, brutal mode and some genuinely surprising DLC releases have made this as much fun to play now more than ever. Absolutely recommend to anyone who can find the instruments.

Stunningly Fun Music Game

April 26, 2019 11:54

This game is fabulous. in the 3 years since original release I'm still playing it, Harmonix have ported all the DLC and previous games songs over from RB 1,2 and 3 for FREE and kept the DLC coming with weekly updates. Rivals mode was added and provides a great asynchronous mode for play competing, meaningfully, with the rest of the world. the Single player mode if fun too. Online play exists but local multiplayer is far more fun (online synchronous is fairly bare bones). What don't I like? well, it's got hard to find the instruments if you want to join in now and the original HW adapters were a bit flaky. (fixed) everything else what WAS wrong with the game (bugs etc) has been fixed and improved upon. Some will complain about the minimal band customisation options. I personally don't care...

i Enjoy playing this game overall. i absolutely Enjoy solo parts ect unlike GH Live. but falls short with the World Tour career mode. im playing the same songs over and over again it gets very repetitive. No online match making i.e around the globe like guitar Hero did. and this game was Rushed out to make half of cake of a game and adding stuff to the game that should of been there on day one. save your money on something you would Enjoy. GH Live is a good Example the songs are Endless it takes Real finger. Co-ordinations and not asking for more money.

Charging for Online Multiplayer

January 23, 2018 00:59

Rock Band 4 is a failure. It's as big a failure as that typo. I cant even begin to list the things that are missing. But starting with online multiplayer, keyboards and bass/guitar pro being unavailable, not allowing the Ion Drum Kit to be used with the Xbox One is a good place to start. This game sucks. Wheres my Alien Ant Farm that i was promised? Wheres my Muse DLC? 'Coming'? Not any time soon.

Near perfect...

January 07, 2018 03:35

I want to start of by saying I absolutely love this game, I've put so many hours into this game and it'll more than likely continue, my biggest problem is the difficulty options, I personally feel like the "hard" difficulty is too easy and the "expert" difficulty is too hard, in some cases I've spent hours and even days trying to perfect some songs to no avail and yet I don't want to lower the diffculty because then there will be no challenge. Which now brings me on to my second problem, why is there no practice mode? I don't want to have to reply a whole song to just practice one section, this is definitely something I feel that is missing from the game. (I just want to point out that these are my own personal problems so other players may not experience this but, this is an amazing game all in all) UPDATE! My friend just informed me about practice mode (I shall not remove it from my original review because I'm proud of what I wrote and I'm too lazy to delete it)

Step backwards!

May 29, 2017 13:30

From day one its marginally improved. However new comers will be disappointed with mainly pop songs and bands no one have really heard of. Rivals introduced more but who really wants Snoop Dogg wannabes and more junk no one has heard of? They introduced multiplayer over a year later but even that was behind the Rivals pay wall AND you can only invite others (yep... no match making) Overall really stumped about what it could have been, but it's probably too late to fix what is a dying genre of gaming. If only RBN was here to help out and the welcoming of Pro mode and Keyboard support.

I've spent well over £100 on songs and brought the dlc online play, but you have to play people you know. so now the guitar, drums and mic now sit there doing nothing. wont spend another penny cuz the game isnt that great anyway. money grabbers!!!!!!!!!!!

paying extra for half of the game

May 04, 2017 00:24

it is stupid that you have only 65 songs for free and hundreds of other songs that you need to pay for. its a game that you play song in, all the songs should be for free. soo disappointed in this game. to me it is work £15 not £50.

Had this from launch

March 01, 2017 00:21

DLC price is ridiculous. The porting of previously bought dlc wasnt available day 1 yet the licencing of most rock band games had expired so no rock band 2 setlist 4 me and now they are charging for those songs. Also if you didnt still have RB3 and your old 360 legacy dlc out of reach anyway! Some has just disappeared and its all for money. After that with the 360 you had to pay to export your own DLC! This game came out unfinished and then they are now charging extra for content like rivals which would have been a great addition to story mode but no harmonix rips us to shreds with a 23 pound so called expansion putting in all the bits left out. The game is still fun but is a backward step from three. Still better than guitar hero. Also finally online is back.Only took 2 years and about 250 pound including instruments which again poorly made. UPDATE Online with friends only!I have 1 friend with this game.Truly abysmal from harmonix. Knocked another star off 4 this.

Game is broken

February 04, 2017 19:17

Version 2.1 and its still full of bugs, instruments dont work properly, and features you want (that dont work properly) are behind a paywall. Save yourself time and money by not reinvesting in this franchise. Worst Rock Band title, and I know they are an indie company. Even indie companies have a standard they have to release their products at. Harmonix, Rock Band 4, fall far below this standard, and there is no excuse.

Not bad.

August 04, 2016 12:04

Game is good besides no multiplayer option. Cover that shortly. Firstly the core setlist is... average. If you lean towards pop and radio rock, you'll enjoy the setlist. Major lack of metal when compared to previos titles. Up side is that MOST DLC from previos games transfers. The graphics are solid and, thanks to continued updates, game play is smooth and enjoyable. Story mode is back and brings decent challenges. The real fun of the series was playing with others which, unless you get Rivals DLC, you can't do except locally.
