I think this is a criminally underrated horror game. It's not as creepy as the first game, but personally I believe it is improved in every other way. The story and writing aspects of the game are greatly improved and I love the addition of the mini open-world zones. My only complaint would be some of the acting(not all) feels a bit wooden.

Going into this, I shared Sebastian's trauma of the first game. That was tough, and I was hesitant to play this. Turns out this one is a lot easier to get through because encounters and enemies are designed better and much more fair. I still never quite had enough ammo so you really did have to think about each encounter, using weapon combinations and the environment wisely. Upgrading the one-shot melee abilities was a literal life saver! There were plenty of mind-bending set pieces and enough variety to not get bored. All in all a great game to play for Halloween.

I have no idea why people in these reviews are saying it runs bad and is unoptimized, I have a 5600x and a MSI GTX 1070 running at the highest settings possible @1080p and fps is never below about 82-83fps normally sitting at 95-110fps, maybe it is their computers that is unoptimized lol. Its a great game in my opinion, if you like survival horrors (resident evil and silent hill) you will most likely love this as well. Good story, nice graphics and some of the boss monsters are truly disturbing. I haven't come across any bugs in the game its self but the achievements wont pop for me, I think they work on console and the cloud streaming but don't seem to work on pc which is very annoying. Some people said they fixed it by restarting some of the xbox services (Telemetry and so on) but I couldn't get it to work. That aside I think it is a masterpiece, a must play for horror fans.

Brilliant mix of horror and action. It manages to remain scary despite giving you the gear to handle most threats. Its never impossible or frustrating but still offers up a challenge. Really is a great game and very well thought out. Im thoroughly enjoying this one.

Didn't play first TEW, but this game is really good. Challenging, have good plot and atmosphere.
