Good overall, but still has some issues.

As someone who has owned the game since launch and has around 200 hours on the game, ican say that the gameplay i quite good as tennis does greatly involve timing. However, as a big career mode player i have one big issue that has been around since launch. After one match in a tournament my player loses more than half of their energy which extremely reduces my players performance throughout the rest of the tournament, even though i have maxed out my players stamina stat the problem still remains. Along with this theres a few movement inconsistencies with moving to the ball. If it weren't for these issues it would be 5 stars, theres been good updates since launch but not enough for career mode.

Had to sign up via QR code , couldnt sign up error with 10 different user names so no thanks sitting there wasting time. Sure game is trash anyway !! Keep your free play days

Plays ok,looks horrendous.what a let down

Courts look good,game play is decent, player movement is realistic. But the player face modellings and crowd are some of the worst ever ,really horrible looking .got the free trial, immediately deleted it. Last gen looked better.if 2k used nba2k modelling then it would be good. This game is embarrassing,ugh.

Crashing

Playing as part of free play days and it constantly crashes as key moments ie at the end of a long gruelling match b4 you can save so you have to play the same match again. Career mode seemed good as well until that started happening.

The gameplay is ok, but pales in comparison to Topspin 4. You can't build-up power shots like in TS4 and the serving aimer is a little sensitive. The graphics are also very last-gen. The whole thing feels a little "churned out"

Sadly disappointing

The game starts off fun but gets dull and extremely repetetive very quickly. There are very few current pros on the game and the game faces can be very wonky (I think my 10 year old nephew could draw a more accurate Andy Murray). Glad i only bought the base game - Which to be honest still feels twice as much as this game worth. Overall I DO NOT RECOMMEND buying this game. You will regret it if you do. I hope this honest review helps others save their money.

Decent enough game however servers are down yet again. Cant use your own player or play career whilst offline. Also you're renting the game until December 2026 and then you're allowed to play exhibitions. Truly laughable.

Test of tennis, Or a test of your patience?

The gameplay IMO does not simulate Tennis at all.. The gameplay can be fun don't get me wrong but the real flaws in this game shine through via career mode, You will make your own pro & start off miserably slow as getting XP is pain stakingly slow & the problems begin... If you want to feel like a tennis world beater play easy or normal for 0 challenge and easy wins and a boring win only career path, want a challenge with good rallys and competion? Hard and above will brake you & eventually makes you realise TopSpin.. Isn't tennis its about a timing meter in game which when your "pro" has awful stats an the career puts you against AI higher levelled then you, then you just get wrecked & cant compete bc your stats are purposely lower so you'll be tempted to pay for level up packs which still dont do much at all.. Then your timing meter screws shots even if you hit good or perfect timing... World of tennis 2 got hate for being hard... But its real tennis This .. Is not.

Single player must be online

Be aware that if you want to play single player then you must be online and connected to the 2k servers. Idiotic decision made infinitely worse by unreliable servers. Avoid or wait until sales.

Had the game for 2 days, now I can't play because of this. £65 for what?? To just play exhibition matches? Refund would be nice. Absolutely pathetic.

2K servers are currently playing up for me, this has basicly locked me out of the whole game. For some reason you cant play career mode without being online and connected to 2K. 5 minutes in and I already regret buying this game.

Buyer beware

Good to see TopSpin return in fine form but I'm seriously disappointed with 2k's insidious policy of built in obolescence. They have stated that the online portions of this game will terminate in December 2026. Fair enough I thought until I started the game up with my internet down and realised the career mode is needlessly online only. Buyers be aware that after two and a half short years all you will be able to play will be the tutorials and Exhibition. I have realised too late that I am effectively short term renting a game I paid £103 for, presumably in an effort to make me keep paying for incremental updates. I don't think even EA was ever this cynical with their stable of sports games.
